Capturing a wedding in photos is exciting but a great responsibility as well. The colors of the wedding, the happiness on the faces, the traditions of the region, customs of the religion all needs to be documented in the photos. The cheeky customs in some weddings, the fun couple, the best friends , we need to capture all this in photos. This means if you see these pictures tomorrow or on your 10th anniversary, you will exactly remember each details from these photos.
The Lao/Cambodian wedding we covered on the weekend was so much fun. The moment we went in to capture the bride’s make up and hair do, she told us that she is feeling stressed. We said “bring the bride some wine”. The bridesmaid brought her a moscato and we got back to work. The lady who did bride’s hair had done an amazing job on the bride and her mom and aunties. Luckily bride’s sister is a MUA and has her own studio set up in the house where bride got ready. With all the fun talks, some wine, some gossip, the bride got ready and looked magnificent. We were able to capture many before, during and after shots which makes this documentary so complete and gives it a life. The bride wore traditional golden and beige Lao wedding attire and looked no less than a beautiful Goddess.
As soon as the bride was ready, we went to the venue to make sure we reach ahead of everyone and can do the necessary set up. The venue was dolled up with flowers, traditional set up and looked exquisite. Everyone got ready for the arrival of the groom and what a great entrance. The groom dressed in same colours as bride, his family, his mates met near the entrance, had some cogneac shots. The groom looked great and his smile made everyone comfortable. A few shots later, they made the great entrance. While the groom sat in and settled next to the traditional set up, the beautiful bride came in. With lots of hoots, welcome music she came in and sat next to her groom. It was as beautiful as sunset with hues of beige, golden from the dresses with bright colours of the flowers from the setup.
After the main ceremony , all the family came in to see the bride and groom and wished them luck. On their official announcement of being husband and wife, we went crazy on family and friends photos. Ahh!! The love of the family and the excitement of friends, so much visible on their faces and on these photos.
We had to sneak the newly weds for few minutes so we can get some couple shots and capture those newly wed moments forever. They were so serious to begin with and then so much fun. We love when our clients show us how much fun loving they are and forget that they are being captured. We want to capture “you” and hence we try to bring that “you” in every way possible.
After their first dance, more shots and dinner , the couple changed their attire and we had totally different personalities to capture. This wedding was so full of fun and we loved each moment. We were the guests and the photographers which made things so easy for us and everyone in the wedding.
Signing off until the next wedding!!
